Pakistan High Commission continues to issue visas to residents of Jammu and Kashmir in accordance with the visa policy of the government and related bilateral agreements between Pakistan and India. There has been no change in the visa policy for residents of Jammu and Kashmir, it said.

RAWALPINDI: In line with the government’s decision to observe ‘Kashmir Hour’ at 12pm on Friday, national anthems of Pakistan and Kashmir will be played at the designated time, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor said on Wednesday.

According to a press release issued by the military’s media wing, Gen Ghafoor, while speaking at a conference held to discuss ceremonies for the upcoming Defence Day on Sept 6, said that sirens will also be blared during the ‘Kashmir Hour’.

Srinagar, Indian-administered Kashmir - On August 5, the Indian government withdrew Article 370 of India's constitution, which gave the disputed state of Jammu and Kashmir partial autonomy.

The article, abrogated in a cloak-and-dagger manner by the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, was followed by the imposition of a stringent curfew in the Himalayan region and the snapping of phone and internet connections.
